Losing TonyEdit

Rhodes presents Tony with the Apogee award but Obadiah Stane signals to him that Stark is not present. Instead, he gives the award to Stane on behalf of Tony. He then finds Tony gambling and gets angry at him for not showing up at the ceremony.

The next day, Rhodes gets iritated at Stark for being 3 hrs late for their trip to Afghanistan but they both ended up getting drunk at the airplane.

In Afghanistan, after Stark successfully demonstrates the Jericho Missile, his convoy is attacked and gets captured. Rhodes gets mad at himself for letting Stark ride on another convoy.

Rescuing TonyEdit

Rhodes learned that the terrorist organization known as the Ten Rings kidnapped Stark, he then organized a rescue mission to find Tony but it took them nearly a month before they could be successful. Rhodes finds Tony walking in the dessert by himself, tired and battered. Rhodes is overjoyed to find his bestfriend alive. The two buddies reunite and together they board the same helicopter.

Rhodes takes Stark to a US base in Afghanistan for treatment, they then return to Los Angeles where Happy Hogan and Pepper Potts awaits them. Rhodes then heads back to his base for his initial report.

Tony Becomes Iron ManEdit

After a day of Stark's treatment, Rhodes watches as Stark orders for a press conference and announces that his company will no longer manufacture weapons.

Tony then comes to visit Rhodes and asks his help with a new private project. Rhodes does not agree with Tony's approach; he thinks Stark is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder because of his capture and needs time to recover.

After a while, he is called by a US Air Force command center to identify a flying object. He then calls Tony, who claims that he knows nothing of what is happening. Two F22 Raptors engaged the flying object who accidentally hits one of the jets. It then helps a pilot who seem to have its parachute jammed. Rhodes receives a call from Tony and explains that he is the man on the suit, much to the amusement of Rhodes who tells Stark that he owes him a jet. After the skirmish, an officer informs Rhodes that the flying object rescued a village from a group of terrorist and destroyed most of their weapons.
